ALFA AWUS036H Wireless Adapter Configuration on Backtrack 5

ALFA AWUS036H is a Wireless Adapter that was supported by Backtrack. This is a good Wireless Adapter for wireless penetration. ALFA AWUS036H works well on Backtrack 5 because Backtrack 5 has been optimized for using it. Now I will share about how to configure the ALFA AWUS036H wireless adapter on Backtrack 5

First Install ALFA AWUS036H driver from the CD. ALFA AWUS036H provides Linux, Windows, and Mac driver so it can run everywhere.

Run lsusb to check the wireless adapter. If it show like below it mean ALFA AWUS036H was detected.

Bus 002 Device 004: ID 0bda:8187 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8187 Wireless Adapter

Then check the wireless adapter with ifconfig.

Now check the driver, run airmon-ng and if the Driver is RTL8187 your ALFA AWUS036H ready to use.
